General Duty Soldier: Class 10th/Matric pass with 33% in each subject and 45% overall. For boards that use the grading system, the minimum grade is D (33–40) for individual courses or grades that contain 33%, and the total mark is C2, which equals 45% overall. Soldier (Clerk): Pass the 10+2/Intermediate Exam with at least 50% in each subject and 60% overall in any of the following streams: science, commerce, or arts. It is required that students in Class 12 receive a 50% in English and Math/Accounts/Bookkeeping. Soldier Tradesmen: Class 10th pass (all tradesmen except housekeepers and mess keepers). Tradesmen in the Army (Housekeeper & Mess. Class 8th pass (no restrictions on the overall percentage Keeper).
